2016-DEIDREBLAIRMarch 2016

Opening Reception

“My art is a personal expression of joy I take from the natural world, particularly animals. This show is inspired by the working farms in Northern New Hampshire. I moved to NH a year and a half ago from Portland, Oregon where I lived for over 20 years. I was lucky enough to find work in Gorham at the farm to table restaurant SAalt. Through SAalt I had the opportunity over the course of the summer to pick produce from local farms and to meet our local food purveyors. I have foraged for fiddleheads and visited our local farmers markets and even began to “farm” my own little piece of land. This show “Farm to Canvas” is a deliberate play on and tribute to the idea of “farm to table” and what it is to support and nurture the community we live in.”

Deidre Blair lives and works in Gorham, New Hampshire where she finds the time and inspiration to paint. She takes great delight in the natural world which is evident in her bold and whimsical use of color.

She studied Art at the Portland State University in Portland, Oregon and is continually inspired by working artists around her.

She has shown her work at the WREN Gallery in Bethlehem NH, the White Mountain Cafe in Gorham, as well as in galleries and cafes in Portland, Oregon and on the Oregon seacoast. Deidre’s work can currently be seen at Libby’s Bistro in Gorham, NH.
