ART CAR PROJECT

AUGUST 2018

As part of the 2018 Bethlehem ArtWalk schedule of events, 42 Maple is spearheading the Art Car Project. Open to artists, car enthusiasts, gear heads, hobbyists, and even the curious, this project will cumulate in a parade on ArtWalk Day.

Interested parties are invited to create their very own art car. This can be the temporary decoration of a vehicle or a more permanent alteration project.

WHAT IS AN ART CAR

Art Cars or art mobiles usually begin their lives as an older or used vehicle (car, truck, van, bus, jeep, golf cart, etc.). The owner of the car decides they want to alter their automobile, not necessarily converting what’s under the hood but instead transforming the exterior/ interior of the car. To what degree and how this transformation is made is entirely up to the imagination, skills, and resources of the car owner.

PARADE INFORMATION

The art car parade will be part of the larger Bethlehem ArtWalk Parade, scheduled for Saturday, August 11, 2018. The parade route will be along Route 302 Main Street. Load in locations will be announced soon.

This parade is FREE.

PARADE STARTS AT 2pm SHARP

PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES

1. Vehicle must be able to maintain a steady speed and power itself.

2. Vehicle brakes must be in good working order.

3. Vehicle should be modified to the point that it is not recognizable as a street or stock vehicle. An art vehicle will not resemble or represent a car, truck, golf cart or any other readily identifiable street or stock vehicle.
